Westacre Middle School is a 9-12 middle school situated in the historic town of Droitwich spa. We are a vibrant school that offers an exciting mix combining the ethos of a primary education within the facilities of a 9 -12 middle school. We are fortunate to have a spacious site with over 10 acres of playing fields and landscaped gardens. Our classrooms are bright and vibrant learning environments equipped with the latest whiteboards and technology. Our school offers an excellent range of facilities including a Science , Art, Design and Technology and Music suites, Learning Resources area and ICT facilities, all of which we use to enhance and inspire our children’s love of learning.
We are a welcoming, happy, caring and lively school where individuality is valued and all our children are encouraged to achieve their full potential for life. Our school vision, ‘Caring, Sharing and Preparing for Life’, is what we aim to achieve as adults and children every day. As a school, we pride ourselves on the relationships that we build with our children and value the partnerships that we have with our parents. We firmly believe that in order to fulfil their potential at school, our children must feel happy and secure – with friends whose company they enjoy and teachers whom they trust and respect. We encourage our children to develop strong values and see our school as a learning community. Westacre is a place for work, but also a place to be enjoyed, somewhere to learn and somewhere to grow.
Why train with us?
We are a middle deemed primary and place a strong emphasis on our ever developing primary ethos. All our staff are skilled primary practitioners and believe strongly in a child centred approach to learning.
We were judged by Ofsted in 2013 as being good with Outstanding features. Guided Reading and the Quality of Marking and Feedback marking were judged to be Outstanding, along with the Leadership and Management of the school.
As a school we have high expectations of all our children, they are encouraged and supported to achieve their true potential in all that they do
This culture of high expectations is reflected in our results. Children’s expected progress from their starting points is in line with National Averages, as is the number of children who make exceeded progress.
There is a strong staff training cycle in school which occurs throughout the year and supports staff to develop and also share their professional practice.
